Silver Tour, here I come!

LIKE one of the Three Wise Men, he arrived at Chandler’s Ford Snooker Club bearing gifts the day before Christmas.

And the 12-year-old left eight hours later with the best present of all.
The young Cuestars Under-21 Bronze Tour player had booked his place on next season’s Silver Tour.
Olly Clark (above) smashed his previous high break of 32 with a massive 44 in the first frame of the Plate final in his home club’s Saturday afternoon Open Series.
He missed a long pink down the rail for a 50.
However, another wise man once said: “A big break only wins one frame.”
And so it came to pass.
His opponent, Austen Petty, won the next two frames for a 2-1 victory.
But what of the Gosport lad’s gifts?
A bottle of Shiraz 2009 red wine went down exceedingly well with salmon and jacket potatoes at a certain World Snooker coach’s Christmas Eve supper with his wife and various relatives from Bristol and Reading.
Cheers!
